The story behind KLAPP Recycled

Two years ago, on this very day, we stood inside a factory in the Netherlands watching something extraordinary happen.

The very first KLAPP Recycled was produced.

Behind that moment were two long years of innovation, testing and uncertainty.

Our ambition was to create something that had never been done before in our category.

A chair made from 100% recycled consumer plastic, blended with wood fiber, while still meeting the strict safety, durability and quality standards required for products used by babies and families every day.

Developing the material, the production method and the final product required years of work and a significant investment for a small independent company.

At times, even experts told us it would be difficult.

But we believed it mattered.

Today, KLAPP Recycled has 64% lower CO₂ emissions compared to production using virgin plastic, and represents an important step toward a more circular future for baby products.

And perhaps just as importantly:

It proved that small, founder-led companies can push an entire industry forward.
